What VITS Offers our Customers
VITS hires interpreters directly from the community it serves, in a way that encourages harmony and support while precluding conflict of interest in our small communities.
VRRP trains interpreters in the profession of interpreting, as well as in the intricate nuances of interpreting in the complex systems in Vermont. Like all VRRP staff, our interpreters are paid employees of our parent organization, the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. They receive all the supports and benefits due to paid staff members. As the hiring agent, you can be assured that they are not consultants or contractors. They are educated in the issues of confidentiality, accuracy, transparency, and other factors that make interpreting wholly successful.
Our skilled, well-trained interpreters are able to express ideas, words and concepts that may have no equivalent in the target language and can also integrate the different world views they represent while respecting the autonomy of all parties present. VRRP interpreters are continuously educated in Medical, Legal, Professional, and Basic areas, and many are certified Medical "Bridging the Gap" interpreters.
VITS currently has available interpreters for:
Arabic, Bosnian, Burmese, Cantonese, Dinka, Ewe, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Kirundi, Kurdish, Lingala, Lithuanian, Maay-Maay, Mandarin, Nepali, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Turkish, Vietnamese.
