Why I Stand with a Refugee
Executive Director, Today’s Women International Network; Republic of Guinea, West Africa
I greatly stand with Refugees. I am a refugee for 19 years now. I know what it means to be a refugee; I know the difficulties and challenges refugees face; I know how refugee women, young girls, and children are exposed to all sorts of violence and sexual exploitation. I experience how young women and girls are forced into prostitution just to survive. Some are beaten, and some are sexually abused, exploited, harassed, raped, oppressed and denied their rights. As refugees, life became hopeless to us, we are frustrated, traumatized, and depressed, I stand with Refugees.
Don't sit there, do something to save someone's life. To give someone hope. To build someone's livelihood. The almighty God will bless you.
