The federal immigration authorities detained a couple attempting to enter the United States with a 4-month-old Nigerian baby girl whom they claimed was their adopted daughter.   The authorities placed the girl in a foster care facility in Texas. 

In September, the Center received notification about this case and matched this infant with a team of pro bono  attorneys.  The attorneys are currently exploring the legal options for the girl to remain in the United States.  They have also obtained medical care for her to treat skin abnormalities.
